BEDBUG EXTERMINATOR IN VISTA

Bed bugs are a recurrent problem in our home. Bed bugs will hitch a ride home with you from a movie theater, hotel, or even a restaurant. If not treated, one or two bed bugs can quickly turn into an exhaustive infestation, invading every room in your house. Common signs of bed bugs are brown or black specks, dried blood from accidentally being squashed, and a subtle, sweet musty odor. You may also have bed bug bites on your body that look like pimples, or mosquito bites though not everyone will reveal signs of bed bug bites.

Bed bug control is tremendously difficult, and not similar to treatment for other pests, because of its genetic immunity to pesticides. We could remove an infestation effectively. But, we ask you to do hands-on check as early detection together with our pest approach helps to prevent them from spreading to other parts of your building.

The Lifestyle of the Bed Bug

Bed bugs are oval shaped, about a quarter of an inch in length and about the same width. They are very flat and can slide into very narrow cracks, seams and under bindings in bedding and furniture. They grow from eggs that hatch in about seven days, through five development stages we call nymphs, to the adult bed bug. All stages of the life cycle except the egg stage feed on human blood. Each life stage requires a blood feeding before developing to the next stage.

Under ideal conditions the development of bed bugs goes from egg to adult in about 45 to 60 days. Under ideal conditions of room temperature and normal feeding, they generally live just several months. It is not uncommon for them to be able to survive for up to a year or longer, even without a blood meal.

Females bed bugs can lay five to seven eggs per day and about 500 in a lifetime.

Bed bugs usually feed at night when people are asleep because the hosts are unaware that they are being fed upon. As bed bugs feed, they inject a salivary secretion into the wound to prevent coagulation. This fluid often causes the skin to itch and become swollen. Scratching causes sores, which may become infected.  Bed bugs are not known to transmit any human pathogens but can cause emotional distress to those affected.

Common Causes

One of the first things bed bug victims wonder is how they got bed bugs in the first place.

Although bed bugs are found in old furniture and bedding, bed bugs often hitch a ride in your luggage from a hotel room, on your clothing from visiting an infected site, in boxes and other items when moving, etc. The fact that they are tiny allows them to go undetected for long periods of time while they reproduced rapidly. By the time you realize that you have bed bugs, they will likely be a well-established population that may have already spread to your workplace, to your friends’ homes, to your children’s schools, etc.
